Indigenous Heritage Micro-Grants

The Micro-Grant has reopened!

The Indigenous Heritage Micro-Grant (IHMG) Program is meant to support emergent activities on a one-time basis. Project applications may include activities supporting the performance, preservation and/or sharing of Indigenous heritage, increasing knowledge sharing with elders, and assisting in the development of cultural heritage skills in Indigenous communities.

Funding: Up to $2,000

Eligibility: Organizations must have a mandate or a focus that includes Indigenous heritage. Eligibility requirements include:
  • B.C. First Nations band or tribal council
  • Not-for-profit society registered in B.C. in good standing and governed by Indigenous individuals (at least 51% of Directors identify as Indigenous)
  • First Nations school, daycare or adult education centre operating in B.C.

Deadline to Apply: Eligible applications will be funded in the order in which they are received until the program fund is expended for the current year. Applications will be accepted until December 15, 2019, for projects to be completed by March 15, 2020
