FPCC Language Fact Sheets Released

What’s the difference between a language and a dialect? How different are the First Nations languages in B.C.? What does it mean to be fluent? Why are there different ways to spell in my language?
 
To answer these common questions and more, we have developed a series of one-page fact sheets on various topics in Indigenous language revitalization. The fact sheets share information for community language champions as well as others who are interested, and include links to other resources for those who want to learn more.

Language revitalization can be a complex task, requiring knowledge in areas as diverse as linguistics, education, community development and even health. We hope that these first ten fact sheets of an ongoing series will be helpful in your work.
