Language funding is now available for 2026-27 up to 2028-29 to support community-based projects that revitalize First Nations languages in B.C.
The Language Vitality Program supports projects from eligible organizations that create fluent speakers, document the languages, and/or develop strategic language revitalization plans. Applicants may apply for one, two or up to three years of funding in a single application, based on the funding category. Multi-year funding supports project continuity and future planning for recipients.
The application deadline is December 10, 2025.

“You can’t just rely on one, two people to be doing the work. You actually need to have it everywhere. Our goal is how do we ripple out more language culture throughout the organization.”
– Danielle Saddleman, Language and Culture Lead, Okanagan Indian Band.
About the Language Vitality Program
FPCC’s Language Vitality Program offers four different funding categories: Rise, Roots, Grow and Flourish funding. Indigenous languages are deeply tied to the land; the Rise, Roots, Grow and Flourish funding model reflects cycles of growth and the flourishing potential of language revitalization work within communities. These funding categories are responsive to the varying levels of experience and capacity that exist across language teams in the province.
The following former FPCC language programs have been combined into a single application process through the Language Vitality Program: The Pathways to Language Vitality Program, Language Revitalization Planning Program, Language Technology Program and Reclaiming My Language Program. This combined application and multi-year funding approach will streamline the application and reporting process saving applicants time and resources.
